The exact date for the January competition depends on floor maintenance at the Senior Center. Sometimes that interferes with the third Tuesday (this year, January 17) meeting date. A definite date will be available later in the autumn. The definition for Nature competitions isSomething that exists in nature: An insect, butterflies, leaves, etc. Includes birds and fish, no man made objects. No elements may be moved, cloned, added, deleted, rearranged, or combined. No manipulation or modification is permitted except resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color of the scene. No special effect filters can be applied. Any sharpening must appear natural.

-=====June 20, 2011 - End of Year Competition===== +Photographs taken at Antelope Valley events between 1 July 2011 and the deadline for submission to the LPA Antelope Valley Events Competition are eligible Any municipality that has an entrant in the 2011 Miss Antelope Valley Contest qualifies as part of the Antelope Valley.  Any event associated with the above-mentioned municipalities qualifies as an Antelope Valley Event.  In addition, the Acton Gymkhana is an Antelope Valley Event.  Some examples of Antelope Valley Events follow:
