I can remember back before the internet, when it was a lot harder (and expensive) to learn new photographic techniques. Books, magazines and class room instruction were the main focus of my training in photography. After a while, reading material became very repetitive, and with any new book, you had to weed out things you had learned in the previous book so you would end up paying for about 20% of the content. Same thing happened in classrooms. The first couple weeks were devoted to basic stuff you already knew and just plain wasted a lot of time I didn't have.

Nowadays you can just sit back in the comfort of your own home and extract just about any information you want from your computer, in most cases free of charge.

Example being........

The "Pixel Perfect" website that hosts these videos allows you to download the available videos along with others they have produced. You are even allowed to save them to your hard drive (or whatever).
This is all free of charge and is sponsored by various vendors that plug their services during the video, but it all works out to your benefit because the content is very relevant to the process of photography.

The below video is on High Dynamic Range but there are many more of these videos you can add to your video library that are well worth watching. If you don't have a video library you should. I keep mine on a secondary hard drive and extend the file names to be a little more descriptive. I have quite a few videos and I find that renaming the file names with keywords at the end will help you find that certain video your looking for by using a simple windows search. I find it an excellent way to go back and refresh your memory on different techniques. I also use a program called "Replay Media Catcher" to capture a lot of the videos that are not easily captureable or savable to your system.

With the information that's available to you nowadays, you really have no excuse not to learn this stuff. Your biggest enemy now is time....

This is not an embedded video so you will have to go to their website to watch it. make sure you check out all the others they have to offer
Here ya go, have fun!
