There are some exotic looking plants at Movies 22 in Lancaster that are starting to bloom. Here are a couple of photos I took at sunrise in July 2008. The parking lot also has many other interesting plants and flowers.
We went by there this a.m. but on the way we stopped at Wal-Mart & found some great shots in the parking lot. I will put these & some from movies 22 in the gallery.

Also some beautiful flowering cactus at Pelona Vista Park, just S of Ave R and just W of AV Freeway. They are between the parking lot and Tierra Subida road. Hundreds of blooming blossoms. Not sure of the names, but hot pink and yellow blossoms can be found. Lots of bees doing their thing. Also Yellow Bird of Paradise blooming. I'll post pics on gallery too. Sue Craft
Tonight I went down to catch the moon behind one of the plants and was rewarded with some good shots. Tomorrow (Friday) should be even better because the moon will rise closer to sunset but I'll be busy. This plant was near the NE corner of the theatre.
This second shot was of a different plant in the South parking lot.
There were some similarly weird plants in the parking lot of the old ice hockey building but I haven't played with those photos yet.
