Friday the 8th went so well that we've decided to make it our permanent location.
This was the night before the Streets of Lancaster race and the Blvd was filled with people, booths, and music. Those of us who were hungry went across the street to the Brooklyn Deli for gourmet soup and sandwiches. Later we wandered down the Blvd and found that there are several restaurants to choose from and, apparently, more coming so we'll have a variety to choose from, not to mention sack lunches and ordering in pizza.
The Blvd Cafe (which shares the office space with King's) had a variety of light foods to eat. The Blvd Art's featured artist room is now complete and more art is being put of for sale. Larry received the good news that one of his unframed photos (of a B-52) had sold for $100. Stokely's plan is working. A few blocks down the artists appartment building was having an art show in their foyer, including a sample ceramic corset and photos of more (they're actually nice looking). They were even offering wine to put the visitors in the right mood.
As for topics of discussion we covered a few including an unofficial field trip to do street photography in downtown LA. Four of us made the trip the next morning and had a blast. I've seen a couple of Larry's photos and he's amazing, especially with his fisheye. I plan to go through a sampling of mine this next Friday. Everyone who's interested should join us. We start at 6:30 p.m. every Friday.

On October 8, a week from this coming Friday, the Friday Night Discussion Group will be meeting at King's instead of Denny's as a trial run. Besides whatever foods Blvd Today Cafe has available at that time we figure we can order sandwiches from Brooklyn Deli (across the street), order in a pizza, or something else creative. Depending on how it goes we will decide if and when we will make it our permanent hangout. In any case we'll try to keep everyone posted on our whereabouts.
