I stopped by the Lakes and Valley's Art Gallery today to take a look at Karen Graham's photography. I think that she does some nice work.
I also got some of LVAG's upcoming schedule.
- May 7 - 29 will be "Nature of Things featuring Pauline Numer, Jo Gayle Gerner, and Cheryl Jackson, Schaeffer. The reception will be (according to the flyer) Saturday and Sunday, May 7 & 8 from noon to 4 p.m.
- LVAG's general member's meetings are the last Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. at the gallery in Lake Hughes. The next one is scheduled for May 1st, a week late due to Easter. The next on will be on May 29.
Kim Winberry has a new group of paintings out called "Endangered Species." What's somewhat unique is the way she creates her complete images from a mosaic of smaller paintings. This is something that can be done with photography as well. For that matter, the style Tryptych has been around for many centuries and is still occasionally seen. Anyone wanting to experiment with styles may want to consider either of these styles to make your photos stand out from the crowd.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triptych
The AV Fair "Fine Arts" entry guide is now out. Photography is not an acceptable category but Mixed Media is (which can use photos as part of the art work). Computer Graphics is also a division.
I'll write more information on the arts as it applies to photography when I come across it.
