I am passing on this information. Looks like fun! The Antelope Valley Indian Museum is in our backyard.
In the wake of the announcement that California will close 70 of its state parks due to budget cuts, we are calling on all our partners, and we could use your help. We want to make sure everyone ˆ particularly the Legislature ˆ knows how amazing these 70 state parks slotted for closure truly are. Although we have some great images of most of the 70 (and could always use more), we don‚t have photo representation of each of these parks. Can you, our photo community, help us? We‚d like to be able to depict each park on the closure list found at calparks.org/closures. For example, we are planning a display of banners on the Capitol lawn on June 21 so the Legislature can see each of the 70 parks that they are planning to close.
If you have the time and willingness to share your photos from these state parks, either archived or new, please upload them to the photo contest. If you are not sure what to shoot, we would love to see: 1. Antelope Valley Indian Museum 2. Benbow Lake SRA 3. Colusa-Sacramento River SRA 4. George J. Hatfield SRA 5. Jug Handle SNR 6. Leland Stanford Mansion SHP 7. Picacho SRA 8. Plumas-Eureka SP 9. San Pasqual Battlefield SHP 10. Santa Cruz Mission SHP 11. Santa Susana Pass SHP 12. Shasta SHP 13. Standish-Hickey SRA 14. Tule Elk SNR 15. Turlock Lake SRA 16. Westport-Union Landing SB 17. Woodson Bridge SRA 18. See all 70 parks at calparks.org/closures
Keep the images coming, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions for the site. You can reach us at admin@myparkphotos.com.
