What is the proper format and resolution when uploading a digital image to the “Picture Critique†forum or your gallery?
Images should be JPEG (either jpeg or jpg extension). The size is limited to 4MB, but really anything around 800x600 pixels at 72dpi will be fine. Images for the web don't need to be high resolution. Software like Photoshop or Irfanview have a selector for image quality, and 80% - 90% is plenty.

From the Set the maximum dimension in pixels to 1024 wide by 1024 high for best viewing on the club's projector.
Yes, I should have been more clear. For competitions, the image should be 1024 pixels on the longest side to fit within the 1024x1024 display area of the projector.
For galleries or forums, the image doesn't need to be that large or of high quality. I fact, uploading a lower-resolution image at a smaller size is one of the best ways to prevent unauthorized copying- it looks fine in the browser but just isn't very useful otherwise.
