Basically they have to be on the web somewhere and then just reference there url using the Img tag icon at the top of your message control panel.

See if this helps.

I followed the link and read it over. Is there no way to simply upload a picture from our documents > picture files or do we have to upload to the gallery THEN to a specific forum topic via their gallery url link?

A member of other non-photographic sites, I'm used to simply uploading straight to forum from my picture files.

My main concern is that I have pictures I'd like site members to review/comment on in the critique section - only. These pictures really aren't good enough to post in the gallery. Plus, it does seem a waste of space to post test or low quality shots in the gallery as they are being critiqued in another forum area because we couldn't upload direct to that forum section.

Finally, I would also like to extend my thanks for putting up the critique section. I think that was a positive step in the right direction. I do plan to make use of that forum section. And, thanks once again for helping me as a new LPA member on other site message board issues.

No, there is not way to upload to this forum. What people do on other fourms is to start a free accout at flicker or some other site and link them that way. see link

http://www.flickr.com/

Another way is to send it to me, tell me what it's for, and I can upload it to the lpa website where no one can see it and you can link to it that way.

OK. And, thanks again.

It's not that I don't want other people to see my pictures. I want them to, but for now, in the critique section where I can get straight forward comments and suggestions. My review of the gallery holds that it should be a place where we put our good stuff, to show off a little as we take those individual steps towards getting better at what we do with a camera. Hardly a shy person, personally, I'd like to reserve the gallery and view it as a place to reach for as I get better taking quality pictures. Once I do, the hallowed ground of the gallery is where I can display them.

I have a diamondback rattler picture for the critique section that I'll be sending your way in a little while. I will also check out flicker.

Thanks again, mate.

Don,
I use photobucket.com. It's a free photo storage site also. It's very simple to use and it costs you nothing.
And on photobucket.com it's not a "gallery" perse but I think of it as a personal online storage site to upload my shots for critic and because I don't change the name of the file chances are people aren't going to do a search for IMG_1045 *example* What they will do a search for is "rattlesnake" or "Grand Tetons" etc.
And I only upload a picture that is 800ppi on the largest side. Great for online photo sharing sux for printing though. Big Grin.
I hope this helps too. I also belong to another forum. It's a photography forum also and I get a lot of feedback on my pictures. It's where I learned about composition and where I learned how to properly use my camera.

Take care.
