Here is part of an email I received today from Margaret Rhyne at the Poppy Reserve
"Poppies still not impressive. We will have to see if this latest rain helps although I am doubtful. There are some good patches of poppies on the east side of the Reserve but in an area that is a 2 mile hike (approx.) from the parking lot. Also poppies that would be good for closeups nearer the visitor's center on the south poppy loop trail (trail closest to Lancaster Road) Ripley is also a good choice for photos especially if there is still snow on the mountains for background"
CouId anyone tell me the poppy condition as of today? I am planning to visit the valley on April 21st to photograph the poppies. It takes me four hours to get there so it would be great to get there when the poppies are putting on a good show.
