What are the rules and guidelines regarding travel photos in your member album? I went on a couple cruises this year to Tahiti and Alaska and would like to share some of my photos. Is it all right to do this and if so what are the image size and limit rules?
That's perfect, just what the member galleries are for.
If you haven't already created an album, you should see a link under the "User Functions" menu on the left side of the site labeled "Enroll Member Gallery" or something like that. Click that link, there's a short terms & conditions to agree to, and you'll have a gallery. Send an email to webmaster@lpaphotography.org after you've created your album and I'll increase the space.
The file size limit is pretty high, but you probably don't want to upload large files. First, to protect the images from copying, and second they're not really displayed in the highest resolution on-line. I normally resize them to 800x600 or so, maybe 85-90% JPEG quality. That's enough for online viewing.
Lee, thanks for the quick reply. I already have a couple albums in my gallery. Just need to create a new one for my trip pictures. I’ll go ahead and downsize the pictures that I wish to share.
Great. I didn't check to see that you already have an album, so yes, go ahead & create as many sub-albums as you like.
The overall size limit is 75MB for each member, just to keep the storage usage reasonable. With moderately small images that should be plenty of space, but with full-resolution images at 3-4MB & up, it can get used quickly.
