Greetings Tejon Ranch Conservancy Members,

As the hot, dry summer is coming to a close, we are starting to offer public access events on Tejon Ranch. Right now, we have opened up two cultural history tours for the end of September. First, on Saturday, September 22nd, we will be leading a trip to the Historic Beale Adobe. This half-day event will start at 8:15am with a stroll (~2mi) around the house and up a moderately steep hill, which provides a great vantage point for the whole southern half of the Ranch. Then, at 10am, we will enter the adobe and local experts will discuss the history of the property and other local lore. The day will end with a nice lunch by the pond. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and a lunch. This trip will be capped at 15 participants.

The following Saturday, September 29th, the Conservancy will host a driving history tour of the western part of the Ranch. We will meet at the Conservancy office at 8:45am, get into Conservancy vehicles, and drive into the San Joaquin Valley. Participants on this trip will see a great variety of cultural artifacts, from bedrock mortar stones, to the Old Headquarters of Tejon Ranch. Local historian, Bonnie Kane will join us to provide detailed information. Due to the limited number vehicle seats, we will have 5 participants on this trip. Bring water, snacks, and a lunch.
We are working hard to coordinate with the Ranch's hunting program to establish more trips this fall, so please stay tuned. It's looking like our best bet for hosting more trips will be in late October or early November. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact Scot Pipkin at (spipkin@tejonconservancy.org). Hope to see you on the Ranch!

Cheers,
Scot Pipkin
