The top picture is of a male - without question. If both were travelling together, the bottom picture is a female as adult male coyotes DO NOT pair up as these two adults apparently have done. The bottom picture shows a less defined chest and a slightly saggy belly denoting that she has given birth in the recent past.

A friend of mine took these pictures and wanted to know if they were male and female. I thought they probably were but I thought I'd ask to see if you knew since you are so knowlegable in this field.
