Well, I've been talking about making a list of local places to take photographs and the weather has given me time to work on it. Please remember that this is still somewhat rough and a lot incomplete. I expect it to grow to 4-10 times by the time it's finished. http://home.earthlink.net/~photo_johns_1/sites.htm
Please take a look at it and give me your constructive comments.
- Authoring software: I'm an old DOS guy and use basic HTML with no frills. It's easy for me, the file sizes are small, and they work without plug-ins. So this won't change.
- Philosophy: If you think I should be aiming at a different audience or providing different levels/types of information then let me know what you think would be better and why.
- Structure: I'd like to keep this structure but it's open to suggestion.
I was wondering about the Resevoir at 167th West/H. As far as I can tell that place has a fence and gate around it like Fort Knox's. How do you get in their? Thanks Helen Henry
I don't know, I haven't been there yet but was told about it. Supposedly waterfowl and other birds gather around it when there's water.
I just did a Google Map/Satellite and it appears that this place is called the "Fairmont Resevoir." I was told that there are two resevoirs, an old earthen one and a newer concrete one but from the satellite image it looks like there might actually be three. I'll get there one of these days.
I drove out there yesterday and found no easy way in. From the satellite views there may be a way to come in from the backside but that is not a certainty. Therefore, for now, I'm removing that location from my list.
Any other comments? Do you think that this list it will be useful to anyone?
