Arley and Lee may be the best ones to talk about specific providers and software so I'll just talk of my experience.

I have Earthlink which provides a meager 10M of web-accessible memory with each (up to 10) e-mail address. Already I have well over 10M of photos online which is why the URLs on some of my photos are stored under false names like "photo_johns_1" and such. One of your first considerations should be how much memory you are going to need. Bill Gates once said that "No one will ever need more than 640 K of memory." You will eventually need much more than you think you will.

If you haven't already you might want to check out Bonnie's new website, http://www.matthewscreativephotography.com/.

If you have the time you might want to drop by the Friday Discussion Group meeting, Bonnie and Lee are usually (but not always) there.

You'll need a hosting account and a domain name.
Domain names are fairly cheap. They usually run around $10 - $20 a year depending on who you get them thu.
Hosting accounts run around $5 -$10 a month depending on who you go with and how long you sign up for.
The LPA Website uses Godaddy.com. Its about $5 a month with 10 gb storage. (Economy Plan)

Do not use Globat.com no mater how much they tempt you. I can tell you stories.

If you're looking for a customized site. You might take a look at these. They are pretty easy to set up once you understand the process. Templates run anywhere from $50 to a couple hundred. It all depends on how much money you have and your requirements.

There are others on the web. Just do a search on google for "Website Templet"

Remember, the bottom line is that you are going to pay for what you dont know how to do. Storage space and domain name is just a service. Its going to be up to you to put it all together.

Instead of a website, you might take a look at creating a blog. they are very popular nowadays.

For your storage needs, I highly recomend GoDaddy

Lee found us a host that's pretty inexpensive. He'll be there tomorrow night, Glenn try to remember to ask him. I'm going out of town and won't be at the discussion group tomorrow.

Dreamweaver is a very good software program for websites.
To post your pictures they will have to be adjusted for the web. This can be done in Photoshop.
The 2 programs work very well together to get this done.
They are not cheep.
The college offer classes on it if you want to get into it that much yourself.
Godaddy is a very good site for hosting and domain registration.
Some of the hosing sites have software that you can use to some extent.
Its fun and pretty easy but it can be very time consuming.
