I found this site http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/root by accident but the content intrigued me. Phil Douglis has here 67 galleries, complete with narratives of what it is he's trying to show and somewhat how he goes about it. It's almost a course in composition. Some example gallery titles are:
"Gallery Forty One: Ruins and Wrecks: photographing the rusted, busted past" "Gallery Forty-Eight: Telling stories with pictures" "Gallery Fifty-Nine: Using Dramatic light at the fringes of the day" "Gallery Sixty-Five: Using the zoom lens to change frame, scale, and meaning"
"I call this my pbase “cyberbook†on expressive travel photography. Each of these galleries is an educational resource, demonstrating a key aspect of what goes into making pictures express ideas to viewers. When taken together, they will offer you a comprehensive, step-by-step instructional guide to the process of making travel photographs that will say something about your subjects, instead of merely describing them."
