Great idea.
Some online forums also have show and critique areas. That is, people can post their pictures and other people can say what they like or don't like about them and how they might do better.

I think the posting of pictures for critic is a great idea.
I have been a member of another online forum for about 2 years now and that's how I learned how to use my camera and bettered my photography skills.
I am sending in my check for the membership fee because I will be undergoing back surgery in the next couple of weeks so I can't make the general meeting. I think that members should have some certain perks but I believe non members can enjoy this site as well. Just my 2 cents.

Welcome to the LPA, I think you'll get a lot out of it. Lots of knowledgeable photographers here.
Let me know when you plan on coming to the meeting so I can introduce you and get you a sponsor to help you familiarize yourself with how things work.

Pictures could be submitted by email and displayed here, judged with a monitory prize given out ($20- $25). Members only or General public. Hmm, I'll have to think about the logistics of this ........
