I received this email last night from the Santa Clarita Camera Club. Sounds like they are going to have fun. You may still have time to join up and go with them.
They will be making the short drive to the Citrus Classic Balloon Festival in Historic Santa Paula (at or around the Santa Paula Airport area). They will actually be going both Friday night for the balloon glow and Saturday morning for the Mass Ascension. Join us for one or both!
Friday Night: - leave at 5:45 p.m.

2009 Citrus Classic Balloon Festival
Dates: Friday July 31st and Saturday August 1st
Hours: July 31, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., August 1, 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Location: 18249 East Telegraph Rd. in Santa Paula (via Highway 126).
What: See hot air balloons illuminate at sunset, ascend in the early morning hours to compete in a Hare & Hound race over avocado and citrus groves.
Admission: Advance tickets are $7 per adult ($10 at gate), $3 per youth ages 5 to 14 ($5 at gate), kids under 5 are free.
