The Desert Rat association is having their "Turkey In The Dirt 2009" dirt bike race in California City this week.

This could be an opportunity to get some "Human Interest" photos for the upcoming competition. Simple action shots might be described as "human interest" but better yet get the look on the faces of riders who've crashed, can't get their bikes running, winners, and such. Maybe a tired, dirty rider stretched out in the sun or pouring a bottle of water over her head. Or maybe something unusual going on with the spectators or in town because of the race. Lots of ideas, not too far away, good timing.
