Can we go to Willow Springs anytime? How do we get in, just identify ourselves as LPA members?
Thanks for the list and info.

"Can we go to Willow Springs anytime? How do we get in, just identify ourselves as LPA members?

The short answer is yes.

The assumed question is "Can you go at any time and get in free?" Any spectator can get in by paying the entry fee and take all the photos they want. Unless something has changed, and I don't know why it would, the standing order in the office is that photographers get in free as part of their media/advertising program.

If you are going in as a group they like to have at least a day's (preferably 2-3 days) notice so they can put your names on the gate guard's list. When I call their office, 256-2471, I usually get Jim Hutchings but anyone can take the names.

If you are going alone you can just tell the gate guard that you're going into the office, they'll have you park (they may or may not have you sign in at that time), and you can go inside and ask permission for free entry. This might even work for a small group (2 or 3) but I have no experience with this so I don't know how they would react. We certainly don't want to take advantage of their generosity and have them change their policy.

If you think that you're going then you should call in advance. No-shows are just ignored, they don't even look at the list so don't feel bad if you call ahead then don't go.

I hope this answers your question.
