I have the letter to get into Piute Ponds, if anyone is interested in going out there to shoot. I dont know if the birds have migrated from the ponds yet. Let me know..

Sunday, Dec 7 is good for me. I would prefer morning, but could do pm. Whatever we do, we should be there for sunrise, or sunset.

Yes, this is on base...
There is an article about Piute in todays Av Press,sport section.It says Duck season is now til Jan 25. How can we find out if its Ok for us to bird watch on Dec 7? Yes it is on the base/
I was actually thinking about that today, I will check out my letter and and post a follow up later today...I believe duck hunting is on certain days of the week... 
I'd like to go as well. I should have my new super wide angle lens by then and this will give me a chance to try it out. Plus, depending upon when we get there, I'd like to play with light and reflection.

Okay...here's the update on the field trip...There is no birdwatching on designated hunting days..sundays,wednesdays,federal holidays, and an occasional saturday....but if you call the base durning the hunting season they may allow us in...so i will call tommorrow...to find out, if any saturdays are open..so if anyone can shoot durning the week monday-tuesday-thursday-or- friday appears to be okay..I will get back with all of you tommorrow.. I dont think anyone of us wants be be shot with real bullets..
