2011 California Poppy Festival

April 16-17 – Lancaster City Park

The LPA will be participating in the 2011 Poppy Festival at Lancaster City Park, in the Fine Arts Division, for the 7th year in a row. Participation has always been great, attendance high, and we always pick up new members during the event. It’s a great opportunity to get involved in a fun community project, provide photographic education with handouts “How to Take Great Poppy Photos”, opportunity to display your work,  and a wonderful opportunity to hang out with other photo club members and talk PHOTOGRAPHY!!!

You can sign up to work a shift at the LPA booth by filling out the form (members only, login required). LPA members are invited to submit "framed/under glass/ready to hang" photos for display (and or/sale). Canvas full wrapped photos ok too. The larger the framed photo, the more eye catching they will be. Smaller items such as matted prints, books, or greeting cards sell well. If interested in displaying your work, please sign up on the website, so that we can start organizing for this big event, and make it an experience that's fun, as well as profitable.  A minimum donation to LPA of 10% of any sales made would be greatly appreciated.

January 2011 Meeting and Competition

Archives

The Jan. 18th, 2011 competition is "Open", judged by Liz and Rich Breault.

Images from any of the standard competition classes may be submitted.

Digital images can now be submitted for optimum viewing at 1024x1024. This size is also better for our continued efforts to have outstanding images to submit for our interclub efforts with PSA and S4C.

We will start our meeting at 6 pm. If you are bringing in prints please get to the senior center a little early so we can properly display them.

Please remember all entries are due one week before competition day, which in January will be January 11th.  Please check out the  web site for information on how to enter them.
