Has anyone noticed if the poppies have started blooming out by the Preserve yet ?? Any guesses as to when they might peak this year??

I cycled out there on Sunday. On the side of the rode is dozens of flowers, most of them close to the reserve. The fields are not happening yet.

Yesterday and today I went out by the poppy preserve for my annual hunt. This year I think I bagged some good ones. The six photos below (five poppies and one ?) have all been photoshopped to some extent but this was a quick pass to get these out today. Taking my time I can probably improve on them slightly.

Anyway, the big fields are mostly brown, though the hills to the West and North of the preserve do have some color. There are some good patches along the road. All of these photos were taken about a mile East of the preserve. The few poppies that are out seem to be a little larger than last year and with better color. I could be wrong but I think this may be as good as it gets this year.
