We had 45 members and 13 visitors attend our Human Interest Competition and General meeting.
We started our evening off with Helen Henry introducing our judge for the evening, Susan Cowles, from PSA. Our theme was "Human Interest" this month and our members entered a total of 14 prints, 39 digitals, and 12 slides for the competition.
Thank you Susan and thank you to all the volunteers who assisted, and made the evening happen.
It was a festive evening, full of great food, good friends, and lots of holiday fun. Over 55 people were in attendance.
Christmas music filled the room, and members came dressed in holiday attire. The tables were covered in red, with Poinsettias, candle holders, and decorative Christmas trees, all for the raffle at the end of the evening. Soon the aroma of hot lasagna wafted throughout the air. Yum, yum!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears… Oh My! No… Gators, Groupers, and Sharks… Oh my!!! Some of Lawrence Fealy’s photos looked like photos straight out of the movie “Jaws”. The jaws so wide, the teeth so sharp, the splashing water droplets so crisp… the photo, ½ in the water and ½ above ever so sharp! The eye so in focus! They were quite impressive, to say the least.
We had 64 members and visitors attend our Depth of Field Creatively Competition and General meeting.
We started our evening off with Bonnie Matthews handing out and briefly discussing a Membership Survey. This survey will be evaluated, and used to help plan future programs, competitions, workshops, field trips and other events that will best meet the needs and interests of our membership.
Then Sue Craft introduced our judge Ted Dayton, President of the Santa Clarita Photography club. Our theme was "Showing Depth of Field Creatively" this month and our members entered a total of 18 prints, 54 digitals, and 13 slides for the competition. Great participation and wonderful pictures enter by all!
We had 65 members in attendance this evening for our September General meeting.
Sue Craft introduced Noella Ballenger our guest speaker for this evening. Ms. Ballenger met with a few of our members for an early dinner and very interesting conversation before the meeting.
Ms. Ballenger presented her program called “Nature by Design.” Ms. Ballenger is a professional nature and wildlife photographer and writer. Her experience has included photographing some of the world's most pristine and spectacular locations. Ms. Ballenger leads photographic workshops and also lectures throughout the United States and New Zealand.
Swap meets are always fun and a great way to get rid of thing and purchase things you are in need of! Over 68 members and 7 guest participated in the swap meet and to watch Glenn Olson and Lyle Trusty Willow Springs Raceway Slide-show program for the evening.
We had 39 members and 8 visitors attend our July Flower Competition and General meeting.
We started our evening off with our competition chair, Helen Henry introducing our judge Joanne Stolte, from PSA. Flowers was the theme for the evening and our members entered a total of 38 prints, 36 digitals, and10 slides for the competition. Great participation and wonderful pictures!
It was a busy night! We fit in a dinner, special guest speaker John Haslett, the Year End Competition, and Installation of Officers.
A small group of us met our guest speaker at 430pm for a no-host dinner before the meeting, at the Hometown Buffet. Our out of town guests and judges seem to enjoy getting a jump on traffic, coming up early, and having photo friends to dine with. For those of you who are able to make dinner at that early hour, please join us sometime.
