Dave Anderson gave an inspiring digital show of last years AV Sky Parade depicting balloons in every size, shape and color.  On Labor Day weekend, Dave arrived early and was able to capture sunrise pictures and the early balloonist's preparing for the morning flight.  His program has inspired many in the club to get up at 0(dark)30 and head to Marie Kerr Park on Labor Day weekend.  The balloonist's will fly all three mornings and launch between 6:30 - 7:00am.  There will be wine tasting as well from Noon - 4 pm.  For more information go to www.avskyparade.org  to get all the details.  See you there!  Thanks Dave for a great show.

John Wells was the lucky winner of the 50/50 drawing and went home with $37 extra dollars in his pocket.

Meetings

Our new board took over this month, and the meeting was led by Dennis Goodno, our new President.  The highlight of the evening was a video presentation from the Luminous Landscape collection… the Ship Breaking Yards of Bangladesh.  Valuable information was presented on composition, cropping, lighting, and contrasting humans/objects with enormous subjects.

Meetings

The annual installation of officers and year-end competition and banquet was held during the LPA General Meeting on June 21.  A potluck and social hour were enjoyed by approximately 50 members and guests, which led into the evening’s events hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Lyle Trusty and Dean Webb.

We had another very large turnout this month, with over 50 people, for Competition Night.  We were pleased to have Dale Gilkinson, President of the Southern California PSA Roundup Chapter, judge and critique our competition.  Before the competition Diane Racey, presented a short slide program explaining PSA and the benefits for individuals and clubs as well.

Meetings

We had another large turnout for this month’s meeting.  Dennis Goodno was able to get  Juan L. Gonzalez, “The Wedding Photographer” back again.

Most of us remembered the great program he did for us a few months ago.  Well, this time was every bit as good.

Juan covered just about everything to do with photographing weddings, with emphasis on posing and lighting techniques and how he achieves his final product.

Meeting & Competition, March 21, 2006


Meetings

We had a large turnout this month with over 50 people in attendance for Competition Night!  It was a very special evening, and we were pleased to have Joanne Stolte, President of S4C come all the way from Glendora, first share dinner with us at the Hometown Buffet, and then to our meeting.

Before getting to the most exciting part of the evening, a bit of club business was attended to.  Of interest to all is our upcoming participation at the Lancaster Poppy Festival, April 22-23, and chaired by Lyle Trusty.  We’re very excited to once again participate, and display, and have now added marketing to expand our horizons.

We had a good turnout for this month’s meeting, with 40 people present, including 5 guests, 3 of which became new members.

There were a few items of interest announced tonight:

Our club has just purchased a new digital projector, which should greatly enhance our digital presentations.  We’re anxious to see it in use.
